Hey Reader,

A few months ago, I wrote to you about Google's new AI Mode, and my concern that it might eventually become the default search experience.

Well, now there's a new development. And it ain't looking good.

I fear that AI mode may be our defaut option sooner than we think, based on this Twitter exchagne from some Google developers.

The first tweet is from Logan Kilpatrick, a Google Product VP, who simply posted "soon :)" in response to someone asking about AI Mode rollout.

That's pretty damning. So much so that another Google Product VP, Robby Stein, jumped in to downplay it, saying "wouldn't read too much into this. we're focusing on making it easy to access AI Mode for those who want it."

Right. I'm not convinced.

If AI Mode becomes the default, it will be yet another blow to businesses relying on long-form content for organic traffic. That kind of content simply won't generate clicks like it used to. And the idea of analyzing blue links or longtail keywords for top-of-the-funnel terms will be a dying practice.

So what are businesses supposed to do? Is there any way to recoup that traffic? And what becomes of all the content you invested time and money into?

These are the questions I've been grappling with - and as you know, I've spent the last few weeks developing my Search Evolution Strategy to help businesses navigate exactly this situation.

Next week, I'm rolling this out on a much larger scale. Before that happens, I wanted to give you one last chance to get early access to the full strategy breakdown.

If you want to see it before it goes fully public, just reply to this email and ask for it.

Talk soon,

Liam
